Elisabeth Britton was born on March 1 in Columbia SC. Raised in the Lugoff-Camden (SC) area, Elisabeth was always extremely independent and out-going. Her parents joke that when she was born she dictated what was to happen because she was so 'hard-headed' and charismatic in everything she did. "She could just look at you and you'd do whatever it was - it was so hard to say 'no' to her - because for one, she wouldn't allow you to say 'no' - it wasn't a word in her vocabulary. Not to mention she has that 'smile'," they state. Elisabeth was a tom-boy growing up, something she credits growing up with 11 male cousins and only one sister (who is 4 years younger than she). After graduating from high school, Elisabeth moved to Myrtle Beach SC to study psychology at Coastal Carolina University (USC). After two years, and realizing that she was far too sensitive for psychological studies ('It was a course I love - understanding human behaviours, but I wouldn't be able to control my emotions - especially where children are concerned,' she states.). So she left and moved to Salt Lake City, where she lived for 3 years. This is also where she got interested in acting. 'Being at Sundance year after year - in the early years of Sundance - it was just something that drew me in, it was like being at home.' She took a few acting classes and thought of moving to LA then - but returned home to SC instead. There she became more involved in the acting scene, which would eventually lead to her moving to LA, where she stayed for a year. 'I worked at a video store on Sunset and LaBrea, and I loved it. But because I wasn't making any money and working all the time, I sort of lost focus as to why I was really there - and by then it was too late - there was no more money,' she replied. So she packed up, vowing to return and soon. After living in Columbia SC for four (plus) years and working on several productions in SC and NC, Elisabeth packed up once again and headed West. 'This is just the way my life is - I refuse to give up on anything', she states. 'When I'm auditioning or on set, that is my home, it is where I belong. Acting is a true source of happiness for me. For the longest time, I avoided many things, but now I'm letting myself go and enjoy life - and I am proud of the person I am becoming daily -- it's so much more easier this way, believe me.' Elisabeth has several new productions in various stages of development and is looking to increase her ever expanding resume. She currently resides in Los Angeles CA.
